Whoever returns first will probably become the starting shooting guard, but the other injured player has to battle for a rotation spot. McLemore might have an edge in winning the starting spot, so the battle for the other wing position off the bench will be between Brooks and Selden. Unless Dillon Brooks starts to struggle mightily, he needs to stay in the rotation, even when Selden and McLemore return.

Brooks has an impeccable ability to just make things happen, even when he’s not scoring. He’s played solid defense on elite players such as James Harden and Klay Thompson. He’s done well at getting deflections as well. On offense, he has more ways to score than both McLemore and Selden. He can attack the basket, pull up from mid-range and knock down the 3-ball consistently.

Brooks is a great fit alongside the bench unit, and I wouldn’t change anything even when other players return. —Parker Fleming (@PAKA_FLOCKA)
