Memphis Grizzlies Hot Takes: Dillon Brooks Won’t Remain in the Rotation
(Sighs) Buy
As both a Canadian and a Grizzlies fan, I want to see Brooks get every opportunity possible. He’s shown flashes of being a two-way contributor and might be the most upside-laden player on Memphis’ roster.
With that said, the team’s start certainly has to alter the franchise’s short-term mandate, especially with rumors of a sale afloat. This team is in win-now mode, even if 50 games is about the most they can win.
As such, it’s unlikely for Brooks to see as many touches once Selden and McLemore — both entrenched ahead of him on depth charts — return. He’s an enticing prospect, but his development won’t come at the expense of Memphis’ short-term gains. —AJ Salah (@Salas42_)
