The Grizzlies won’t beat a single team when those two players aren’t playing well. We saw it last night when they lost by seven even though the bench scored 54(!!!) points.
It’s truly unacceptable. The trend has to stop before it bites the Grizzlies.
The Western Conference is way too good for your stars to play like role players. If you can get “Aggressive Marc” and “All-Star Conley” right now, you have a bonafide team contending for homecourt. Instead, they look like a team that’ll see four losing games to the Warriors in the first round — or a lottery team, given how pessimistic you are.
Marc Gasol and Mike Conley have to step up quickly. I understand the “oh it’s only November” narrative, and it’s true to an extent. Those “it’s only November” games can come back to bite when fighting for a playoff spot.
