Tonight, the Memphis Grizzlies (7-6) return home to take on the Indiana Pacers (6-8) at FedEx Forum. What stands out in this game?

The Memphis Grizzlies come into tonight’s matchup with the Indiana Pacers following a very long and tough five-game road trip. When the road trip began, it seemed that things had bounced back on track, but the Grizzlies ended their five game west coast road trip with a 2-3 record. Similar to the Grizzlies, Indiana seems to be searching for answers of their own following blowout loss at home to the Houston Rockets.

Key Stats:

  • Memphis Grizzlies: 17 wins all-time
  • Indiana Pacers: 25 wins all-time
  • The Memphis Grizzlies are currently (0-3) against the Eastern Conference

Their last match up:

Last season, the Grizzlies split the season series with the Pacers (1-1), but in their last game, the Grizzlies tackled the Pacers in FedEx Fourm. In that contest, Grizzlies guard Mike Conley had 36 points as Marc Gasol didn’t play in that one. Vince Carter chipped in 21 off the bench for the Grizzlies as well.

Both teams look different..

Both teams have completely different rosters this season due to a crazy off season from both teams.

The Pacers traded their cornerstone player Paul George to Oklahoma City, and brought in Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis from the Thunder. The Pacers have a nice backcourt of Lance Stephenson and Oladipo, and a challenge in the paint with Myles Turner at center.

The Grizzlies, however, lost two of their “Core Four” this offseason, but added much-needed athleticism on the wings in Ben McLemore and Tyreke Evans in free agency.

The Grizzlies have yet to see what McLemore can do yet, but Evans is clearly leading the Sixth Man of the Year race.

The Grizzlies also added a key piece in the NBA draft with Dillon Brooks out of Oregon.

These two teams match up very nicely and are guaranteed to impress for 48 minutes.

News going into the game

The Grizzlies announced that Mike Conley (sore left achilles) is questionable, and JaMychal Green will play. Green, has only seen a handful of minutes this season after being injured in the first game of the season. Green will add even more depth for Memphis Wednesday night.

The Grizzlies have a lot of questions surrounding the team heading into this game. However, one thing is for sure, the starters are going to have to bring the fire first.

The Grizzlies’ starting five have just killed runs the last few games, leaving the bench to fend for themselves. If the Grizzlies rebound the ball well and keep Indiana scrambling to find some offense, look for this one to be over quickly.
