170. The Hornets have absolutely failed in surrounding Kemba Walker with a decent core. Kidd-Gilchrest is a good defender but hasn’t done anything to warrant being the second pick over Bradley Beal, Harrison Barnes, Damian Lillard and Andre Drummond. They flopped that same draft when they passed on both Jae Crowder and Draymond Green. Frank Kaminsky has been fine but nothing worth lottery consideration. Malik Monk isn’t as good as Luke Kennard or Donovan Mitchell — who went after him.
Miles Bridges can fix the trend. He’s the most NBA-ready prospect outside the top six and has the makings of a versatile combo forward. His jumper is off this season, but last year he shot 38.9 percent from deep. He has above-the-rim athleticism which is good for finishing in the paint.

The Hornets might be entering a new era, and they can salvage this run by trying to pair Bridges with Walker.

Chances of getting #1 pick: 1.1

Alternate pick: Kevin Knox

Likely #1 pick: Luka Doncic
.
