38. Trae Young has taken the NCAA by storm. He’s shooting the ball with Steph Curry range and efficiency. He’s making history as the lone player ever to lead the nation in points and assists. The Steph Curry comparisons have legs. His floor vision and range are berserk. His production is jaw-dropping. It’s up in the air to see how he does against NBA guards as a 6’2″ point guard, but he’s proven his worth as a top-5 propsect.

Teams don’t want to be that franchise that passes on “the next Steph Curry.” The Magic have a need for a point guard and a face of the franchise. The Elfrid Payton experiment hasn’t really worked, so Trae Young is the pick here. Pairing him with Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac would create a promising trio in Disney World.
