The Memphis Grizzlies look to bounce back with a win over the reeling Los Angeles Clippers.
After a less-than-inspired performance against the San Antonio Spurs, the Memphis Grizzlies look to get a win against the Clippers at home. The Clippers have struggled with injuries this season, losing several key players for extended periods of time.
The Grizzlies have won six out of their last 10 games; however, most of these wins came against lottery-bound teams. As the Grizzlies continue to develop their young players, let’s look at the easiest road towards victory tonight.
Keys to the game
- Continue to allow young players to play through mistakes
Against the Spurs, the Grizzlies seemed to finally allow their younger players to play, and more importantly, play through bad stretches. Players that are new to the league are going to have bad stretches of play, and it’s important to let guys struggle through them. The Grizzlies should continue to let Brooks, Ivan Rabb, Deyonta Davis, Wayne Selden Jr., and Myke “3-sus” Henry feature heavily against the Clippers.
- Frustrate Los Angeles
There are three things that are certain in life: death, taxes, and the Clippers complaining incessantly about the referees. As the season continues, they have grown increasingly frustrated, be it with the referees, other teams, or even themselves. As a result, it doesn’t take much to frustrate them to a boiling point. Example A:
- Take advantage of injuries
The Grizzlies and the Clippers have both had players miss extended time for injuries this season. Los Angeles is missing several key pieces in Danilo Gallinari, Patrick Beverley, and Austin Rivers. The absence of an elite perimeter defender like Beverley allows for a potential big game from a Wayne Selden Jr. or a Myke Henry.
