The Memphis Grizzlies split the season series against the rival Los Angeles Clippers after a close game the team could not finish. The Grizzlies lose their second game in a row after a five game winning streak 109-100.

Quick Hits:

On a positive note, Marc Gasol had a triple double tonight. He came away with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. He was a mismatch against DeAndre Jordan blocking five shots during the game.

On a negative note, the  Memphis Grizzlies had a grand total of 19 turnovers. They were mostly the Grizzlies throwing the ball out of bounds, and the Clippers playing tough defense.

Dillion Brooks had a decent night, scoring 15 points. He shot 60 percent from the floor, 50 from deep and made all of his free throws.

Ivan Rabb scored 12 points on 63 percent shooting. He showed that he has developed fast from the G-League. All things considered, it was not a bad night for the rookie second round pick.

Mario Chalmers and Andrew Harrison kept attacking the basket, helping the Grizzlies in a tight game.

The highlight of the night was the coast to coast dunk from Jarell Martin in the third quarter.  He came away with 17 points and 6 rebounds.

With incredible sooting inside and out, Lou Williams scored 40 points tonight. He is the main reason the Clippers took out the Grizzlies.

Blake Griffin made 3 threes against the Grizzlies.  He came away with 14 points, 5 assists and eight rebounds.

Backup Clippers point guard Milos Teodosic scored 18 points. He wasn’t great from deep, but he was great when attacking the basket.

Montrezl Harrell showed some power with his dunks, scoring 10 points while shooting  83 percent from the floor.

DeAndre Jordan scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  Offensively, he outmatched Gasol, but  he struggled on the defensive end.

Post Game:

J.B. Bickerstaff commented about the loss to the Clippers and how they should have executed the offense.

“What we wanted to accomplish we got accomplished. we keep talking about moving the ball. We had 31 assists…that is a step in the right direction made but 20 turnovers. We need to continue to be unselfish with the ball.”

The Grizzlies will play the Phoenix Suns on Monday at the FedEx Forum. The game starts at 7:00 PM.
