No. 2: Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. is by far one of the riskiest prospects in the draft, given his back injuries. However, his upside is the highest in the draft. He has the potential to become the next great wing scorer, following the likes of Tracy McGrady and Kevin Durant.

Whether or not he can bounce back from his back surgery will determine his path there.

At 6’10”, Porter can face up over any wing – and even big men. In addition, because of his size, he can jump into passing lanes.

Offensively, Porter has a pure jumper from deep. He also uses his size and athleticism to get to the basket to finish over defenders.

Though he’s the best offensive prospect in the draft, he does have a bit of shortcomings. His ball-handling isn’t as superior as guys like McGrady and Durant. In addition, he needs to add some muscle to his frame in order to compete with NBA 4’s.

With the Grizzlies, he’s an excellent fit next to Gasol and Conley. He could essentially be what Jayson Tatum is to Kyrie Irving and Al Horford – a budding young star that scores at an efficient rate. In addition, if he hits his ceiling, the Grizzlies will find a franchise cornerstone to relay on for the next decade.
