Memphis Grizzlies: 2018 NBA Draft Big Board 1.0
No. 3: Trae Young
I almost put Trae Young behind Luka Doncic, but Conley’s injury almost makes him essential. You’ve seen it. He’s put on Curry-like performances with some Steve Nash assist numbers.
Young is the pioneer of the new wave of Curry clones coming into the NBA. The Grizzlies have a chance to right their wrongs from the 2009 draft.
He’s just unbelievable.
He has video game deep range. His handles are stupid nice, and his floor vision is the best of any prospect of the past decade. Despite his lack of size and elite athleticism, Young still finds a way to get to the basket.

His size and athleticism are his shortcomings though, and those traits could prevent him from being the next Steph Curry. However, he’s at worst a dynamite sixth man.
The Grizzlies need to evaluate Conley’s eventual replacement, as his years as a starter might be numbers – especially with this injury. If they could find a player who could start and lead the team effectively before Conley’s contract expires, that’d be a huge boost for this team’s future.
Trae Young could be that guy for the Memphis Grizzlies. He’s a guy who can revamp this entire organization.
