The Memphis Grizzlies are looking to end their 11-game losing streak against the Denver Nuggets. Can it be done? Or will the Grizz fall once more?

At least February is over for the Memphis Grizzlies, right?

After going 0-10 in the short month, the Grizzlies are looking to right the ship against the Denver Nuggets. These teams are heading in two totally different directions.

The Grizzlies are in the midst of a lost season, while Denver is in the playoff race and just got Paul Millsap back from injury.

It’s certainly going to be a tough game for the Grizzlies. On the bright side, there are some bright spots in this matchup.

Returning Tiger

Let’s dive into a bit of the opposition side to start, shall we?

Former Memphis Tiger Will Barton will make an appearance in this one — that’s something to look forward to. He’s been a huge boost for the Nuggets, playing like one of the best sixth men in basketball.

He’s averaging a career-high 15.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Not to mention, he’s shooting 36.6 percent from deep.

It’s always nice to see a Tiger product do well at the next level, but let’s hope he doesn’t go off in this game.

Wayne’s back?

After missing the past five games with knee soreness, Wayne Selden is questionable for this matchup. Boy, do the Grizzlies need him!

Selden is averaging 8.3 points a game on 38.1 percent shooting from deep. His presence certainly helps the Grizzlies, as he’s a much better option than Myke Henry or Ben McLemore.

Though it makes sense to play them — draft picks are tight, right — Selden’s development is important for this team’s future. He’s one of the only players on this team with legitimate starter upside.

If he plays in this game, he’ll have the chance to go up against Gary Harris and Will Barton — two solid starting shooting guards.

Master vs. Apprentice

Though he’s not technically under his wing, Nikola Jokic reminds many of Marc Gasol. Both big men are talented big men who rely on skill rather than athleticism.

Jokic is already glorified for his unbelievable court vision and passing for a big man — like Gasol. In addition, he’s displayed a phenomenal all-around game as well.

Last month, Jokic averaged a mind-boggling 21.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and nine assists. Yes, Marc Gasol had a great game against Phoenix, but he’s going to have his hands full against Jokic.

If he gets going, it’s going to be a long night in Memphis.

Tank Watch

After Sacramento’s win against the Nets, the Memphis Grizzlies are now second in the reverse standings for the number one pick. Right now, they’re guaranteed a top-five pick, which would be huge for the future.

But, you know what the great Ricky Bobby said, if you ain’t first, you’re last.

The Grizzlies are only half a game back from holding the best lottery odds. They could strengthen those odds against a playoff-thirsty Nuggets team.

OR, they could randomly pull out a W and end this losing streak. Whatever you prefer.
