Memphis Grizzlies lose a heartbreaker to the Chicago Bulls
The Memphis Grizzlies are in the midst of the worst losing streak in franchise history (18 games), but with the return of Tyreke Evans, could they end the streak?
First Quarter:
The Memphis Grizzlies started the game with forward Jarell Martin scoring the first five points. The Chicago Bulls started very sloppy, but after a timeout, answered the Memphis early run. Memphis led by as much as 10 throughout the quarter. Dillon Brooks led the Grizzlies with 13 first quarter points as they led the Bulls 29-22.
Second Quarter:
The Bulls came out looking for blood and went on a 13-6 run to start the second quarter. It seemed to be a back and fourth affair. Neither team could gain an advantage, but seeing Briante Webber again was good to see for Memphis fans. The score would be tied at 52 at the end of a bland 1st half. Brooks led the Grizzlies in scoring with 13, followed by Marc Gasol and Tyreke Evans with 11.
Third Quarter:
Gasol went to the bench early in the third quarter, and Evans turned into his usual play maker self. The Grizzlies finally found momentum with Evans and Deyonta Davis midway through the third quarter. However, the Grizzlies could not get over the hump and couldn’t gain momentum. Outside of Evans’ spark early in the third, the Grizzlies just seemed to be running up and down the court in search of consistency. At the end of three, the Grizzlies trailed Chicago 78-75.

Fourth Quarter:
The beginning of the fourth quarter turned into a shootout. Chicago and Memphis went back and fourth with threes in the quarter’s first 5 minutes.
The heart that Gasol, Green, and Evans showed down the stetch was huge for this young Grizzlies team. Tying the game in a shoot out has always been tough for Memphis, but they scratched and clawed their way back.
A critical foul on a three point shot by Evans added to a season of heartbreak for the Grizzlies, but they would still have 1.8 seconds left to win the game. In the end, the Grizzlies dropped their 19th game in a row in heartbreaking fashion to the Bulls in Memphis. Tyreke Evans led the way with 25 points in 32 minutes. Gasol also had a big game, finishing with 21 points.
