Memphis Grizzlies 2018 Draft Big Board 3.0
No. 8: Mo Bamba
Pre-draft workouts could help him rise up this draft board, but I don’t know how Bamba translates to the next level.
Not to mention, his fit with the Grizzlies would be weird. The Grizzlies are looking to reload for another playoff run next season. How would they accomplish that if he’s playing maybe 15 minutes a night behind Gasol? Wouldn’t it be better if they can add someone that could play 30-35 minutes a night?
He certainly has the tools to be an awesome center at the next level. At 6’11” with a 7’9″ wingspan, he can be a terrorizing defender. He also has the coordination that some center the Grizzlies drafted in 2009 lacked.
Where he must show his worth is on the offensive end. Does he have the post moves to score around the paint? Can he expand his range to become a full-fledged unicorn in the NBA? Or will he be a lob threat like DeAndre Jordan and Rudy Gobert?
