No. 7: Mikal Bridges

Mikal Bridges might be one of the safest prospects in the top-five. In addition, if he makes the Kawhi comparisons he’s been receiving, he might be one of the best picks in this draft.

More from Beale Street Bears

At 6’7″ with a 7’2″ wingspan, he could be a force on the defensive end of the guard, as he is capable of locking up positions 1-4. In addition, he’s become a steady contributor on the offensive end of the court, increasing his scoring average and 3-point percentage every year since arriving in Villanova.

Out of everyone that’ll probably go outside the top-six, he makes the most sense for the Grizzlies. He can start at either the 2 or the 3, and he can actually function as the premier defensive stopper — something that’s been missing since Tony Allen’s departure. Not to mention, he can actually shoot the basketball — and he can do it pretty well.

If the Grizzlies somehow fall to sixth, Bridges has to be the guy for them.
