No. 3: Luka Doncic

The mystery man of the draft: Luka Doncic.

He’s been hyped up for the past year for his production in the best non-NBA league in the world at such a young age. This past season for Real Madrid, he averaged 15.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game at 18 years old. This kind of production out of a teenager in Euroleague is unheard of; it’s rare for them to receive this much playing time as well.

There are a few questions so far. Doncic only shot 31.1 percent from deep, but the decline in 3-point percentage could be in relation to how often the ball is in his hands. The prior two seasons, he shot 34.7 and 39.7 percent from deep. In addition, can he translate to the speed of the game? He’s certainly not the fastest guy in the draft, but he’s also skillful and crafty. If those two things translate, he can nullify his lack of speed.

Must Read: Luka Doncic fits with the Memphis Grizzlies

Of the top prospects, Doncic might make the most sense for the Grizzlies. They desperately need help on the perimeter, and Doncic obviously fits that bill. He’d be a nice secondary playmaker and shooter that Conley and Gasol needed with them — hmm, doesn’t this sound familiar?

Nonetheless, nobody knows what Doncic can be. Some people suggest a taller Manu Ginobili. Some people try to suggest European James Harden. If he winds up like them, or even Gordon Hayward, the Grizzlies would win picking Doncic.
