The Memphis Grizzlies are not currently be playoff-eligible, but it is enjoyable to take a look back at some of the greatest moments this franchise has made in recent years.

Some are good, some…not so good — as you willl see from this particular edition.

Today is April 29th, and an important playoff game in Grizzlies history happened on this day in 2012. It was a battle between Memphis and the Los Angeles Clippers, and really, just the beginning of the bad blood between the two clubs.

Check out the video (below) to view the highlights of the Game 1 meeting to relive the emotions displayed by our beloved Grizz gang.

It was Zach Randolph versus Blake Griffin. Marc Gasol dueling with DeAndre Jordan. Mike Conley contesting Chris Paul.

There were so many great matchups in this game, and though the “Lob City” Clippers were overly hyped, the underrated Memphis Grizzlies were shocking thousands of basketball fans.

Were the Grizzlies about to be contenders? This was just the start of a grueling series.

Memphis led by 21 points to enter the fourth quarter, but that would not last.

It is agonizing to think about, even to this day — six years after the fact. Nick Young produced 19 points off the bench, and he fueled the Clippers’ fire in getting back into this game.

As you can see by the video, Los Angeles sucked the life out of the Grindhouse, even after the three-point barrage by Mike Conley.

This wound up being a game lost by the Grizzlies with a final score of 99-98 in the Clippers’ favor. Not all was lost, however. It was a lesson learned by Memphis as they would receive the last laugh in future playoff meetings.
