Christian Dudley (@ChristianDudley): Pau Gasol (San Antonio Spurs)

Pau Gasol, the owner of 8,966 points and 4,096 rebounds inside the Grizzlies’ all-time record books, will be entering his 18th NBA season in 2018-19.

Pau, though turning 38 in July, proved in 2017-18 that he has plenty in the tank to be a valuable contributor on both ends of the floor. The elder Gasol brother started 63 of 77 games played for a Spurs team which earned 47 wins.

From a Grizz fan’s perspective, it would be awesome to watch the Gasol brothers suit up for the Grizzlies as a pair. This would be a potential twin towers lineup of Gasols. Think about this. It obviously is not guaranteed to bring success to the Grizzlies as it has for the Spanish national team in the past, but there is a bigger picture.

The addition of Pau Gasol would bolster Memphis’ frontcourt depth. I would be a major improvement over the past couple of years while youngsters Ivan Rabb and Deyonta Davis continue along their developmental track.

It would only be right for Pau Gasol to retire with the Memphis Grizzlies — where he initially made his presence known in the NBA — and mentor Rabb, Davis, and others along the way.

“Gasol” and “Memphis Grizzlies” are a match made for life…forever.

Next: No games to be played, but important dates exist in May for the Grizzlies
