Pick Analysis. Hakim Warrick. Scouting Report. PF. 2005 - Round: 1 / Pick: 19. 9. player. 211

If you were wondering where Stromile Swift would have fallen on this list if he’d been taken in the late first round instead of second overall, this is the answer. He and Hakim Warrick had a lot in common (style of play, size, athleticism) and both threw down some insane dunks on fast breaks.

Warrick was actually a more versatile player on both ends of the court though. Unlike Stromile, he could step away from the basket and knock down jump shots. Their numbers are very similar but Warrick’s are a little higher across the board, so he would be ahead of Swift even if they had been taken around the same point in the draft.

They overlapped briefly since Stromile was traded back to Memphis after a stop in Houston, but Warrick essentially stepped in and filled in the role that Stromile had played during the last year in Vancouver and the first four seasons in Memphis.

Over a four-year career with the Grizzlies, Warrick averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and shot 50 percent from the floor. He spent four seasons in Memphis and nine total in his NBA career.

Over the next five seasons after he left Memphis, he played on five different teams. Stromile played for four different teams after leaving the Grizzlies, so the Spider-Man pointing meme applies to pretty much every aspect imaginable down to headband and arm sleeve.
