Rawle Alkins

Rawle Alkins is a tough-minded guard who could develop into a really good bench player one day. I do not see him becoming much more. However, he is still just 20 years old, so he has a lot of time to grow.

His turnovers are a reason to be concerned. He averaged 2.6 turnovers per game last season, while he averaged just 2.5 assists. He was not the point guard, so it is not a big deal, but it is still concerning.

Alkins’ three-point shooting is another thing to keep an eye on as he starts his NBA career. He was a 36% shooter from deep in college, but that is at a shorter distance. Some experts think he is a guy who will struggle to adjust, but we will have to wait and see. If he can keep it above 33% or 34% to start, then that would be a good building block for his shooting.

He had a big game against New Mexico earlier this season, where he hit some tough shots and made big plays.

Rawle Alkins is also an athletic freak. His athletic ability makes him an interesting prospect to watch on the defensive end. He averaged 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks per game this past season. He may not become an elite defender, but he is more than capable of holding his own on the defensive end.

His athleticism could lead to his fair share of highlights on the offensive end, just like it did in college. This dunk against USC in the conference championship game was absolutely filthy.

Rawle Alkins is going to be an interesting prospect to watch on Draft Night. Some experts think he could be an early-second round pick, while others have him going late-second or even possibly going undrafted. Nonetheless, keep an eye on Alkins as a possible selection for the Grizzlies at No. 32.
