If you’re like me, and had high hopes for the Memphis Grizzlies tomorrow night, pump the brakes. The Grizzlies are now in the toughest position yet.
News broke late last night about Luka Doncic getting some notice from the Atlanta Hawaks at number three in the NBA Draft.
With Hawks management reportedly shifting their sights to the star power offered by Luka Doncic, it will be interesting to see how Memphis views Jaren Jackson as the potential pick at No. 4. Jackson has refused to work out for the Grizzlies and will not provide a medical either.

If Doncic was off the board at four, the Grizzlies would then take forward Micheal Porter Jr., with the fourth pick, but then more news came out.
Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress) on J&J (92.9FM/680AM) says he’s hearing that there’s a strong likelihood Michael Porter Jr. will redshirt his first NBA season.

The Grizzlies are now in the toughest spot, and have the worst pick in this year’s draft. It is now official that I think that they trade the pick and here is why: So many opinions in one room make it hard to settle on one guy. Then, you add in guys that will be available at four that the Grizzlies do not see fitting in, and honestly do not want to be in Memphis. Jaren Jackson Jr., Mo Bamba, and several others do not want to be a Grizzly, and I do not think that the Grizzlies want them.
Could the front office in Atlanta have just released the information as a smoke screen to bring in viable trade partners? There is a high probability that this could be the case, because two days ago, they were set to take point guard Trae Young.
Smoke screen or not, the Grizzlies are in a very tough spot, and are on the verge of settling for Jackson Jr., or a ridiculous trade back in this year’s NBA Draft.
