Fringe Playoff Teams Seek Help

player. 142. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 15. C. United States. Mitchell Robinson

Mitchell Robinson has not played meaningful basketball in a hot minute. That makes this pick a reach. Could be a huge reach or a huge steal. The fact is that Marcin Gortat is getting old and less effective and the Wizards do not have much frontcourt depth. Robinson is worth the risk in the capital.

66. . . PG. 16. Kentucky. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. player

Here is our slider. Sixteen is the absolute floor SGA in the draft. He is being overshadowed by Trae Young and Collin Sexton in the point guard conversation. The Suns fill a need and get an absolute steal here at sixteen.

G/F. Jerome Robinson. . Boston College. 17. player. 89.

One of the biggest risers right now. The fact that he is a green room invite tells me he’s expected top 20. The dude balled out in the ACC tournament and can be an upgrade from Tony Snell as a bench piece for an improving Bucks team.

G/F. 29. . . Maryland. Kevin Huerter. 18. player

Despite his broken hand, Huerter still finds himself going mid first round to the Spurs. He will possibly be stepping in immediately, filling the void left by Kawhi Leonard, unless they get a wing in a trade return. Huerter is a perfect player to fit the system for Pop.

Zhaire Smith. 19. 125. . . Texas Tech. SG. player

Outside of Taurean Prince, the Hawks do not have anything exciting on the wings. Taking Doncic still leaves them without someone with athleticism and Smith has a lot of that. At pick 19, and not expected to head to the playoffs, the Hawks can take this risk and attempt to develop him.

. . Troy Brown. 20. 86. G/F. Oregon. player

It could just be me, but Troy Brown seems like the most T’Wolves player in this draft. A Tom Thibodeau dream. Brown is definitely a player that Jimmy Butler would be pleased with on both sides of the floor.
