The Memphis Grizzlies do not have high hopes for free agency this off season due to lack of cap space, but adding this former big name player could put the Grizzlies over the top next season.

Avery Bradley to Memphis never seemed realistic before, but it could be happening as soon as the first few days of July! The Grizzlies have been rumored to interested in the former Boston Celtics guard Bradley.

Bradley (27 years old) was pushed out of Boston due to their ‘youth movement,’ and has been on the move ever since the beginning of last season. Bradley was lights out in Boston before the off season trade that shocked the league, and no one saw coming. Bradley was coming off of a career year averaging over 16 points per game and just shy of shooting 40 percent from three.

What made Bradley ‘fall off?’

Bradley went through the worst part of any players career with two of the worst systems in the NBA today. An off season trade with Detroit where he shot 38 percent from three, and started becoming the focus of their offense, but then a trade from Blake Griffin last season sent Bradley to the Clippers. In his six games in Los Angeles, you can imagine how Head Coach Doc Rivers used the veteran guard.

How does he fit “GNG?”

He is the definition of “three and D.” If you look at the clip below, he fits Grizzlies Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s plan perfectly. Causing chaos, and pushing his teammates to do better. In Boston they were good defensively, but he would be coming to Memphis where one of the best defensive centers in the game is still in his prime in Marc Gasol, and a Point Guard that can actually play defense in Mike Conley.
