The Memphis Grizzlies look to build on a big win last night against Atlanta by taking on the Utah Jazz tonight in Utah.

Tonight’s match up will feature two teams that won last night, and two teams who handled business easily throughout all four quarters of those games. Not a lot of big names for Utah, but a lot of smart talent, and well coached group of guys that know how to get the job done.

Utah’s late first round pick Grayson Allen had a so-so night from the field. The rookie guard ended with 16 points, but shot 4/16 from the field. Memphis has a lot of good defensive wings to throw at Allen, so it won’t be any easier for Grayson in day two of Summer League action.

Triple-J Repeat?

Jaren Jackson Jr., had a night to remember last night in his NBA debut for the Memphis Grizzlies. Making eight three pointer and four in each half, and adding a shimmy after the buzzer-beater at the end of the first half.

Heading into day two, Jackson, along with Ivan Rabb will have to go to work again. Depending who is on the floor with Deyonta Davis, the task will be tough, but both Rabb and Jackson are talented enough to help on the defensive end of the floor. Davis has become a liability, and become such a liability that you can see the difference when he is on, and off the floor.

Majority of last night, Rabb was across the floor from Davis, and struggled on the offensive end. When Davis exited the game, Rabb flourished in the post. The catch and shoot mid-range jumper looked nice from Rabb, and he defiantly has a lot to build on in day two. Rabb finished with 14 points, three assists, and three rebounds in his 24 minutes of play.

What Can Memphis Improve On?

Rebounding. The Grizzlies played really well last night, and handled business well last night, but kept the Hawks around with second chance points. Time and time again Memphis gave up offensive rebounds, and were caught watching the ball fly through the air. Davis, Jackson, and Rabb have to step up and own the glass in this game for Memphis to continue their growth.
