The Memphis Grizzlies will be heading to the semifinals after a tough win against the Utah Jazz in Vegas Saturday night.

Grizzlies Starting Five:

PG: Jevon Carter

SG: Kobi Simmons

SF: DJ Stephens

PF: Jaren Jackson Jr.

C: Deyonta Davis

First Quarter:

Memphis started the first quarter off very well on both ends of the floor. Jevon Carter and Markel Crawford started off where they left off last game.  Carter started Memphis off on offense, and then Crawford entered off the bench and hit three straight three pointers.

Simmons played really well in the first half as well. Getting the ball moving, and getting the ball to basket. Memphis finished the first quarter on a Brady Heslip corner three buzzer-beater. Utah and Memphis finished the first quarter tied at 23 a piece.

Second Quarter:

Memphis started the second quarter not hitting shots and falling behind to Utah by as much as eight in the first few minutes of the second quarter. Carter started lighting the scoreboard up in the second quarter that kept Memphis in the game, while Utah was hot on offense.

Carter finished the second quarter with 18 points on 8/14 shooting,  had four assists, and five rebounds. Carter played a huge role to keep Memphis in the game when the offense became stagnant. Memphis finished the first half only trailing by one after trailing by as much as eight in the second quarter.

Third Quarter:

Memphis flew out to a six point lead, and as every good game goes, the momentum swung back, and Utah went up by six. Carter continued to put in the work in that third quarter, and elevated Memphis, but when he was off the floor the Grizzlies struggled on both ends. Memphis finished the third quarter up by two on the Jazz.

Fourth Quarter:

Memphis went on a tare to start the fourth quarter! Memphis jumped out to a seven point lead, but Utah and Memphis just went back and fourth. Carter continued to have a lights out night from the field, and let the fans in Vegas know who the King of this game was. Carter gave the Utah the “calm down,” motion after hitting a dagger size up three to put the dagger in Utah. Memphis defeated Utah 92-86 after a battle in Vegas.

Grizzlies Stat Lines:

Jevon Carter: 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Markel Crawford: 19 points, 4 rebounds, on 7/14 shooting.

Jaren Jackson Jr.: 9 points, 7 blocks, and 9 rebounds.
