The Memphis Grizzlies may very well be planning a big release to step into a new era of the franchise.
Grizz Nation has been longing for a new uniform design for several seasons now. Nearly one year ago, the team, along with the rest of the association, officially jumped from their contract with Adidas. However, not much change came for the Memphis Grizzlies.
When Nike released Memphis’ new uniforms for the 2017-18 season, not much changed other than the swapping of brand logos. They were basic in design, but it was a safe move considering other teams’ over-the-top customizations. A few NBA franchises were handed entirely new home and away uniforms during this transition. It is only a short matter of time until the Grizzlies are next in line.
On Friday, the Memphis Grizzlies dropped a few hints on the social media platforms, but they did not let the cat out of the bag just yet. Understand that the organization has not experienced major change in their branding since the start of the 2004-05 season. Pau Gasol was the team’s All-Star. James Posey and Bonzi Wells were grinding. Mike Miller was in his prime. Needless to say, it is time for a change.

It definitely looks like the Memphis Grizzlies are rolling out new hardwood. What else could these trucks be bringing in? Consider this plus the fact that the images and videos show FedEx Forum without a current court layout.
It is already expected that the Grizzlies will showcase an updated logo — though displaying very slight differences. It is assumed that team colors will remain mostly the same. Keep more gray in mind.
Perhaps this is just one of multiple components to a full release. The Grizzlies could potentially unveil a new logo, new color schemes, new uniforms, and a new court design all at once. It would be fitting considering the squad is being led by a new full-time coach and a revamped staff.
Stick with Beale Street Bears to find out what trick resides within the Memphis Grizzlies’ sleeves.
Go Grizz!
