After Dillon Brooks’ impressive debut with the Memphis Grizzlies last season, there is little doubt that he will be a starter this season.

Making it all the way to the NBA rising star game during All-star weekend, proved Brooks’ belongs in this league.

When looking at who he is going up against in a game versus the Lakers, Brandon Ingram seems to be the best fit at this time. Former Grizzly, Lance Stephenson, will also make an appearance as a small forward but for now the stats below will highlight that of Brooks and Ingram.

Dillon Brooks’ Career Stats:

Season FG% 3P% 2P% FT% TRB AST STL BLK TOV PTS
Career .440 .356 .484 .747 3.1 1.6 0.9 0.2 1.5 11.0

Even with Ingrams’ additional year on Brooks in the league; Looking at these two charts, offensively, Dillon Brooks has better numbers in each category (FG%, 3Pt%, 2pt%, FT%).

Ingram does have, by a small margin, better numbers in average points, total rebounds, assist, and blocks.

These two players are very close on paper, but this will be just Brooks’ second year in the league backed with impressive depth and veterans to build his playmaking ability. Making him, overall a tough competitor when matched against Brandon Ingram. For Ingram, his length and skill level on the offense end makes this one of the more intriguing matchups for Memphis.
