Memphis Grizzlies: 5 players who have something to prove in training camp
Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks is entering his sophomore season in the NBA and is looking to take his game to the next level. I talked with Memphis Grizzlies Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff at times throughout the season last season, and Bickerstaff wants Brooks to be a “smart scorer.” A guy that will not just throw up shots looking for points, but a guy that the Grizzlies can rely on, and a guy that can flow with this Grizzlies team.
The next level for Brooks is that level of meshing with his franchise, teammates, and coaching staff. Brooks has shown that he can get hot, but has also shown signs of inconsistency on offense as well.
For this training camp, Brooks will be the only Grizzly looking to prove that he worth of that next tier, and that his training over the summer with Team Canada, and in the gyms has built him to flow with Bickerstaff’s game plan on a nightly basis.
Brooks has to prove that he has the consistency not only on offense, but defensively to stay in the starting lineup nightly, and that he can be in position to make Mike Conley and Marc Gasol’s jobs much easier stretching the floor.
