Health and Fitness and How The Grizzlies Make a Difference

With poor health choices happening everyday in this countries’ youth, the Memphis Grizzlies do what they can to promote a better life style. The Grizzlies believe that through healthy life choices now they can instill in a younger generation what it means to work towards goals. Throughout the year, the Grizzlies try to raise awareness and access to healthier options as well as promote fitness and eating habits. The Grizzlies have made such an effort to do so that in 2013 they were the first only only recipient of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition award.

In addition to this promotion, the Grizzlies also take time from their off season to go on the road to host youth basketball camps. Most recently, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks toured the State of the Tennessee and other parts of the Mid South doing basketball camps to help kids become involved in sports and fitness. Going to places such as Olive Branch, MS., Jackson, TN, and Nashville, TN.

These two young stars are carrying on what has been set before them by other franchise players. Continuing this legacy of food, fun, and fitness will help ensure the Memphis Grizzlies’ prominence in the life of at risk kids for years; starting a chain reaction for next year’s new players.
