‘Kickstradomis’ Gets Creative with Memphis Grizzlies All-Star
In a season where the NBA has made a rule change relative to the shoes players are wearing, the Memphis Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol will soon don his own customized masterpieces.
In case you missed it during the eventful NBA offseason, the association has made a rule change allowing players — including those of the Memphis Grizzlies — to wear any shoes they prefer on any given game night. There no longer exists a rule forcing players to wear kicks that match their uniform of the night.
It is yet another way the NBA is allowing their athletes to express themselves and to demonstrate feedom of speech. It is another of many reasons this league is leading all others in America (and beyond).
From the Grizzlies’ side of things, Beale Street Bears provided the example of Marc Gasol wearing Nike shoes honoring his home country of Spain while decked out in his Grizz uniform. We were not too far off — one project pair of kicks belonging to No. 33 has been unveiled.
Meet “Kickstradomis” — an innovator in the athletic shoe industry where his custom designs are quickly being representing by today’s biggest NBA stars.
If you are on social media, there is a good chance you have seen some of the excellent work of Kickstradomis. Customizations have been made for Karl-Anthony Towns, Donovan Mitchell, among other top names.
The latest NBA player to receive the Kickstradomis treatment is none other than the Memphis Grizzlies’ three-time All-Star center, Marc Gasol. Take a look at the Grizzlies-inspired next-level drip directly below.

The man behind the Kickstradomis name is Sal Amezcua. He will soon have all of Grizz Nation wanting their own Grizz kicks. Not only is the fan base excited for the start of the upcoming 2018-19 season, but this adds to the excitement and anticipation, just as the new Nike uniforms have done, too.
Big Spain always wears Nike HyperDunk kicks season-in and season-out. However, these are by far the best looking pair he will have donned on the hardwood.
It was not just a vision by Sal. “Marc actually reached out after he saw what I was cooking up for his friend Ricky Rubio,” says the design artist.
In planning the Memphis Grizzlies customization, Amezcua states “I wanted his first game pair to resemble the beast inside Marc and also portray the Memphis Grizz theme.”
It is loud. It makes its presence known. It is representative of the Grizzly center.
This particular size-17 pair of shoes is not the biggest piece of work Kickstradomis has prepared for the league’s big men. “The biggest I’ve done is 20 for Karl Towns and Rudy Gobert,” he proclaims.
Sal Amezcua is just getting started this season. His list of clients is growing and it will soon include another member of the Memphis Grizzlies. Next up? The squad’s first round NBA Draft pick, Jaren Jackson Jr., has already reached out after signing a deal with Nike in the offseason.
When can you expect to see Gasol pivot in the post in Kickstradomis’ custom work? Thankfully it should not be too many weeks from now as it could be as early as the Grizzlies’ regular season-opener on October 17th versus the Indiana Pacers.
