For Memphis, this team will have to have reliable scoring off the bench, and while I think we will see JaMychal head to the bench unit with Parsons, I think that Memphis should at least try a lineup of Conley, Temple, Parsons, Jackson Jr., and Gasol.

If anything this could be Memphis’ own ‘death’ lineup they throw at teams late in games to push themselves over the hump and get victories in a brutal Western Conference. Ultimately I think that Bickerstaff will sacrifice one guy for more production with the bench unit. Whether it be Parsons or Green, Memphis cannot go wrong on this one.

Both guys are capable scoring options, and this is a good problem to have in the preseason. Not that their bench is too weak, but I’d like to see Memphis switch it up and test it as soon as possible.

With four preseason matchups left for Memphis, Bickerstaff will experiment with different lineups down the stretch of games, especially if the games are close, similar to what the Houston Rockets did on Tuesday night against Memphis.

I think we might see some mixing and matching of lineups for Memphis on Friday night when they take on the Atlanta Hawks at FedEx Forum, but since it is a back-to-back the following night against the Indiana Pacers, don’t expect much Saturday night.
