Season-Opening Preparation

The most critical aspect to tonight’s Grizzlies and Pacers matchup is the fact that these two teams open their regular season versus one another on October 17th.

Just more than one week between meetings, it is a guarantee that both clubs will be taking plenty of notes in tonight’s battle in an attempt to gain the upper hand later this month.

While the Memphis Grizzlies are fine-tuning their product for the regular season, the Indiana Pacers are already on a mission for excellence. They were heated after narrowly losing a playoff series to the Cleveland Cavaliers and have only upgraded since (See: Tyreke Evans).

If the Grizzlies treat Saturday’s game as a regular season contest, it could eventually lead to an upset of the Pacers on their home floor in Indianapolis, Indiana. Memphis will need to build upon the momentum that was generated in Friday’s victory, and it will be a tough task being the second game of a back-to-back scenario. Indiana has been resting since Thursday.
