Memphis Grizzlies: 5 Takeaways from Preseason Victory Over Atlanta

The new court was not the only fresh thing that fans saw in Friday’s victory by the Memphis Grizzlies. MarShon Brooks made his preseason debut by way of a perfect game from the field.
Brooks went 7/7 from overall, including and 3/3 from beyond the three-point line, totaling a powerful 18 points off the bench. His plays on the court were electrifying and truly sparked the lead that the Grizzlies built momentum upon in the third quarter on their home floor.
Mike Conley
Memphis’ conductor, Mike Conley, had a second consecutive solid game. His play allowed space on the offensive end for other players to create a high-scoring game.
The Grizzlies hold defense as their highest priority, but were still able to produce 120 points in Friday’s win as a result of high execution on offense.
Conley totaled 11 points to go with three assists, three rebounds, and one steal in 27 minutes of action. It is his direction and leadership that has increased the Grizzlies’ speed of play over previous years. Assuming this continues for No. 11, a big season is in store.
