Omri Casspi has been a consistent player over the years. Hopefully he can continue this trend into his tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Though new to the Memphis Grizzlies, Omri Casspi is no stranger to this league.
Casspi was drafted in the first round back in 2009 by the Sacramento Kings. This is not where his career started, though. He may have been drafted in 2009, but starting in 2005, he played as a dominant big man in Israel.
In fact, Omri Casspi is a two-time Israeli Super Team Champion and Super Team Sixth Man of the Year in addition to a few other accolades. Casspi’s career has been quite extensive, but he has never played with one team for more than three consecutive years.
Since entering the NBA in 2009, Omri has played for six other teams (not including the Memphis Grizzlies). Most recently, he was a member of the Golden State Warriors’ roster. Hopefully while with the Grizzlies, Casspi can find a home and can focus on solidifying his role with the team.
In a new setting for the 2018-19 season, it is clear that Omri Casspi will assist in strengthening the Memphis Grizzlies’ bench in addition to providing veteran experience to a younger roster than the franchise has typically known. Beale Street Bears is here to provide insight into the role Casspi could and should play this season.
