By Blake Monroe
What Casspi Has to Offer
Omri Casspi is no Marc Gasol. He is also not your standard JaMychal Green. The newcomer may stand at 6’9,” but he is a wing shooter through and through.

Throughout his NBA career, Casspi has only averaged eight points per game with very few assists tied to his stat line. That is okay, though. Not all good things register within the box score.
Casspi’s field goal percentage stands around 45% while averaging 4.8 rebounds per game. Though he may not be an elite scorer or a post presence, Omri is still able to produce consistent numbers while rebounding.
He played his best offensive season — as far as shooting accuracy is concerned — last season with the Golden State Warriors with a mark of 58%. Therefore, Casspi is coming to Memphis as a player with more left in him. Age has not deteriorated his efficiency — a career-high 15.5 Player Efficiency Rating in 2017-18.
The 30-year-old is a player the Memphis Grizzlies need to come off the bench to execute offensively while rebounding the ball when the opportunity presents itself on both ends of the court. Preseason play has shown that Memphis needs all the rebounding effort it can get on a nightly basis.
