Ivan Rabb

Ivan Rabb did not play in the Memphis Grizzlies’ first two games, including being placed on the inactive list this past Friday. It is expected that he will be active now as it would leave Jaren Jackson Jr. and Marc Gasol as the only center options if he were to remain inactive.

He might not play a huge role regardless. The Grizzlies seem content with playing more small ball, which could leave either Jackson Jr. or Gasol on the floor, sharing the full 48 minutes.

There should be at least a few minutes here and there for Rabb, though. They will want Jaren Jackson Jr.  and Marc Gasol on the floor at times together, which should open up an opportunity for Ivan Rabb.

There is also always the chance that one of those two guys could get into foul trouble. The Memphis Grizzlies could have signed another big before the season if they decide not trust Rabb to play big minutes off the bench in situations like this.

It will be interesting to see how much they use Chandler Parsons or anyone else as a small-ball four. Either way, Ivan Rabb should see the floor for at least a few minutes. He will have a chance to display his progression.
