In the sixth game of the Memphis Grizzlies’ regular season, the struggling Washington Wizards roll into town searching for any form of positivity.
The Memphis Grizzlies (3-2) will continue their home stand on Tuesday as they face the Washington Wizards (1-5). This marks the third Eastern Conference foe of the season for the Grizz.
Washington made some upgrades to their roster in the offseason, but their record has yet to show it. It is expected that the John Wall-led Wizards will be a lock for the postseason, but they are definitely experiencing the struggle in the first few weeks of 2018-19.
On Memphis’ side of things, homecourt advantage has been awfully friendly. It is a night-and-day difference for the Grizzlies in nearly every statistical category when they play in front of their own fan base.
For instance, Memphis averages 124.0 points per game inside the Grindhouse, where they are undefeated. On the road, however, the Grizzlies produce just 89.0 points.
Though this Grizzly bunch needs to figure out their key issues to scoring the basketball on the road, the schedule favors them on Tuesday evening being as the Wizards are the ones making the road trip.
As the Grizzlies continue to play with lineups and rotations, Saturday’s victory over the Phoenix Suns was another step in the right direction. Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff is becoming more comfortable in his full-time role and he is becoming familiar with his new-look roster.
