Memphis Grizzlies: 3 Reasons Why Now is the Best Time to Face Washington
Conflict of Interest
Another newcomer to the Washington Wizards organization is a name very familiar to Grizz Nation.
Austin Rivers, a former member of the Los Angeles Clippers, was intended to bring an offensive punch, but as of late, the only punches he has thrown have been within verbal messages to his new teammates.
Perhaps there is no harm intended. It is the honest truth, Washington has been bad. Awful. Though it is early, they are in the NBA’s bottom four.
Following the Wizards’ 104-136 road loss to the Clippers on Sunday, Austin Rivers made this postgame statement:
"“Our defense is horrendous,” Austin Rivers added. “I don’t know how we expect to get wins when they are just walking into the paint, (we are) giving up threes. It comes from effort and talking. You have got to have personal pride. You’ve got to get mad when someone scores on you. We are not the Warriors.”"
Locker room chatter is getting louder. Finger-pointing is beginning. It will be interesting to see if the Washington Wizards come out with some added fight in them on Tuesday.
Washington is getting antsy for a win, which could spell doom for an opponent, but the Memphis Grizzlies have been putting the clamps on their foes. The Wizards may very well have to wait until later in the week to snag their second win of the season.
