What He Brings Going Forward

Kyle Anderson is going to play hard each and every night. He has shown it throughout his career and has shown us the same in Memphis through seven games.

His ability to rebound the basketball might be his biggest impact on the team right now. He has averaged 5.9 rebounds per game but has had a game with nine boards as well as one with eleven.

More from Beale Street Bears

JaMychal Green has been one of this teams best rebounders and they needed guys to step up in his absence. They have been one of the worst rebounding teams with him in the lineup so it’s good to see Anderson helping out in that department.

Anderson’s ability on the defensive end fits perfectly in Memphis. He does a really good job getting in passing lanes which have led to him averaging 1.5 steals per game.

He also averages 2.1 deflections per game which is second on the team behind Marc Gasol. While the team averages 13 deflections per game which is 9th in the league.

The ability to get in passing lanes and create turnovers is key for this Grizzlies team since they give up some extra second-chance opportunities due to their lack of rebounding.

Anderson fits in with the players on this team and that’s the most important thing. Last season with all the injuries and the firing of David Fizdale it wasn’t a great season to be a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

They have been more team-oriented and have enjoyed playing the game of basketball again. It has led to some early season success but we’ll just have to wait and see if they can sustain it.

Kyle Anderson does a lot for this team. It’s not gonna show up in the stat sheet so it’ll continue to go unnoticed around the league, but down in Memphis, we’ll start to appreciate everything he does for this team.
