Memphis Grizzlies: 3 Keys To Victory In Phoenix
By Chris Kern
Make Three-Point Shots
The Memphis Grizzlies have done a good job knocking down open three-pointers to start the season. They have a handful of guys who have all stepped up in a big way in that department.
The guy with the biggest impact is Garrett Temple. He has shot 48.6% from deep which is way up from his career average of 36.1%. Temple has shot at that high clip while still attempting five three-pointers per game.
Marc Gasol is another guy who has done a really good job knocking down his open looks from deep. He has made 50% of his three-pointers thus far while shooting four three’s per game.
The Grizzlies have shot 38.5% from three-point range which gives them tied for the 7th best percentage in the league.
They have some good shooters which help but the reason they’ve been successful is by taking good looks.
A couple surprising guys who have shot the ball well from three are Wayne Selden and Shelvin Mack. Selden has shot 47.1% from deep while Mack has hit 53.3% of his three-pointers thus far.
You can’t expect all these guys to shoot this good from deep all season but they have done a good job thus far and it has led to a lot of wins. They’ll need these guys to make some shots if they want to come out of Phoenix with a win.
