The Memphis Grizzlies came back home after back-to-back losses looking for a win. They got it playing Memphis Grizzlies grind it out basketball.

The Grizzlies had been relying on their bench to score the ball for this team but with them struggling the starters stepped up in a big way.

Neither Garrett Temple or Mike Conley made a big impact on the offensive end as they both struggled to get going. Temple made just one of four shots and finished with five points.

Conley did a good job getting teammates involved with his eight assists but his shot was off like it has been so much this season. He finished the game shooting just 2-9 shooting but he did make a big floater to put them up by four with 40.4 seconds left to go.

Despite those two’s struggles on offense, they both were fantastic on the defensive end. Jamal Murray was just 6-21 shooting while Gary Harris was just 6-16.

The rest of the team deserves credit for that as well as they did a very good job defending those two driving to the rim.

Trey Lyles and Mason Plumlee were two guys who played very well. They did a good job taking advantage of the Grizzlies playing extra small ball.

Lyles finished with 16 points and 9 boards and Plumlee had 10 points and 6 boards. Denver having the size advantage by so much gave the second unit for Memphis a lot of fits.

This game came down to the wire but Memphis found a way to win. Marc Gasol hit two free throws with 4.6 seconds to put the Grizzlies up by two.

Nikola Jokic got a decent look from the wing to win the game but it was no good. That actually was his only shot attempt of the game.

He did make four free-throws but other than that he wasn’t a threat to score the ball. He did have four assists but he had a very little impact on the offensive end and the Grizzlies deserve a ton of credit.

They did a great job defending Murray, Harris, and Jokic and that is the main reason they were able to come away with the win. Here are three takeaways from the Grizzlies big win.
