Takeaways From The Memphis Grizzlies Win Over Denver

Marc Gasol Got His Groove Back
Marc Gasol had really been struggling on the road trip but he sure did bounce back against Denver. He took it upon himself to score the basketball and lead this team to victory.
He was just 2-13 shooting against Phoenix and that led to him being very passive against Golden State. Gasol took only two shots against the Warriors.
He came out aggressive and was looking to attack off the pick and roll. They had been relying on him to pass off of that which he still did tonight as he had four assists.
The difference tonight was he was attacking the basket himself. There were a couple plays on pick and roll’s where he caught the pass and attacked the basket for a slam dunk.
That may not seem like a big deal but it isn’t something we have seen often this season so it was really good to see.
Nikola Jokic getting in foul trouble helped him be aggressive as well. Jokic picked up five fouls about midway through the third quarter and Gasol took advantage.
Gasol got in some foul trouble himself as he picked up two early fouls to start the game. He came back in and played well as he made a huge impact on this game.
He had 20 points and 12 rebounds which was a season high in scoring for him. This was his best game of the season and if he can play like this going forward this team will keep winning games.
