Memphis Grizzlies: JaMychal Green Set To Return In Minnesota
By Chris Kern
The Memphis Grizzlies lack inside depth no more. JaMychal Green is expected to play Sunday afternoon in Minnesota after missing the last few weeks.
The Memphis Grizzlies have played a lot of small ball lineups so far this season. With JaMychal Green set to return they will have the inside depth they’ve been missing.
His return is early than what was initially expected. He was listed to be out four to six weeks but many felt he would be out for the latter.
Despite some of the rumors, he will be ready to go Sunday in Minnesota which is just over four weeks after he broke his jaw against Atlanta.
Green had developed into a good starting power forward so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles a bench role.

Yes, he started the first two games but based off the way Jaren Jackson Jr. has played this season expect him to remain in the starting lineup.
People are underestimating the type of impact that Green will have. He is a good all-around player and will still play a big role on this team.
The Grizzlies have been lacking post depth since his injury but they have managed to get by. They have been creative with their lineups and for the most part, they have been successful.
Green is more than just a role player off the bench though. In the 2016-17 season, he averaged 10.3 and 8.4 rebounds in 55 games played.
He has the versatility to defend multiple positions which will make him a great fit in this Grizzlies defense. He is the perfect small ball center to use with the second unit.
Green has continued to work on his three-point shot and it has become a valuable part of his game. Last season he shot 33.9% from beyond the arc.
The Grizzlies have got by without him but they will be a must better team with him. Expect to see more traditional style lineups for a Memphis team that continues to emphasize a slow-paced game.
