Memphis Grizzlies Closing In On Deal With Joakim Noah

The Memphis Grizzlies have had an open roster spot for the past couple weeks. They are looking to bring in Joakim Noah to fill that spot.
It looks like the Memphis Grizzlies are trying to fill their final roster spots. They are in talks to sign Joakim Noah.

The Grizzlies don’t have a lot of depth inside and that has led to heavy minutes for Marc Gasol. They have Ivan Rabb as well but they have shown they don’t trust him in a consistent role.

Gasol has been great to start the season but they need to limit his minutes some if he is going to be effective for 82 games.

With Jaren Jackson Jr.’s struggles to stay out of foul trouble, they need another body inside. JaMychal Green‘s return will help but a fourth big man you trust will help this team a lot.
Noah will help defensively as he will buy into the grit and grind mindset the Grizzlies play with. He has had some really good moments in his career but he struggled in New York after signing a big contract and was waived before the season.
Memphis is a team that struggled to rebound the ball so at the very least Noah will help in that department.
Some people will be upset with this signing but this is the right move for the Grizzlies to make. Some thought that signing a wing player would be a better option.
With Dillon Brooks and Chandler Parsons out it is something to consider but a backup center is a bigger need.
The Grizzlies were successful while Green was out but it’s a big surprise they waited until he returned to try and make this move.
There were some fans that wanted to bring in Nick Young but there are some reasons that make this a bad idea.
They already have a guy like that in MarShon Brooks. He is on this team to score the basketball and we already see how he struggles to fit in at times so why bring in another guy like that who is even worse defensively.

Joakim Noah isn’t the most talented player by any means, but he is the right player for the Grizzlies to add for that final roster spot.
