Many were unsure who the Memphis Grizzlies would take in the 2018 draft. So far this season Jaren Jackson Jr. has been everything they could’ve hoped for.

The Memphis Grizzlies took Jaren Jackson Jr. with the fourth overall pick and it’s looking good so far. He has been dominant on both ends of the floor and has shown more versatility than anybody could’ve expected.

The other rookies have all had their shining moments early in the season as well. A few Rookie of the year candidates are starting to emerge but they’ve all played well.

The only top-five pick that has struggled to get a consistent role is Kings forward Marvin Bagley III. The Kings have opted to play veteran players over their young guys and it has led to some surprising wins which have led to Bagley’s role having some uncertainty.

Luka Doncic has quieted all the doubters early on in this season. He is playing at a high level on a Dallas Mavericks team that is starting to play really good basketball.

Trae Young has struggled a little bit in Atlanta but some of that is due to not having a very good roster around him. He handled that pretty well in college at Oklahoma but it’s different to do that at the NBA level.

Then we have Deandre Ayton, he was selected first overall to the Phoenix Suns. He has been playing great and it looks like the Suns have formed a great young duo with him and Devin Booker.

These guys look to be on their way to successful NBA careers. We take a closer look at each of them and why the Grizzlies made the right choice with Jaren Jackson Jr.
