Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic has been sensational to start the season. Some had doubts as to whether he would be a great pro but he has shut all the doubters up for now.

He did struggle against the Grizzlies Monday night in what was a Memphis win. It took a season-high 20 shot attempts to get to just 15 points.

Besides that game, he has played well in almost every game. His offensive ability as both a scorer and a passer is not common among rookies.

His season high in scoring was a 31 point performance in a loss in San Antonio. He also had eight rebounds and four assists.

So far this season he is averaging 19.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He has helped the Mavericks stay competitive early on in the western conference.

This comparison might be the most interesting one to Memphis fans. Doncic was the guy who many felt was on top of the Grizzlies draft board.

After the Grizzlies dropped to four in the lottery they didn’t really have much of a chance at him. It has worked out well so far but what could’ve been.
