Supportive Coaching Staff

While J.B. Bickerstaff has quickly entered the NBA’s Coach of the Year conversation, credit must also be given to the guys behind him.

Beale Street Bears has recently discussed the unique aspect of the playing experience shared by many members of the Memphis Grizzlies’ new-look coaching staff and Front Office. These guys can relate on a different level to the players on the team, especially the youngsters.

This aspect has also built the unit amongst the 15-man roster. Assistant coaches do a lot more than is seen by the fan base. They do a lot of the scouting and preparation for Bickerstaff, which makes his job easier.

The saying is “you are only as good as your weakest link,” and it is showing that whoever the Grizzlies’ weakest link may be, they have got to be pretty strong overall. Memphis sits with a 12-5 record on Thanksgiving, which has the full remainder of the NBA’s Western Conference trailing them.
