Memphis Grizzlies: 5 Under The Radar NBA Draft Prospects
By Chris Kern
Terance Mann
Terance Mann is a tough-minded guard that would be a good fit in Memphis. Leonard Hamilton always gets his Florida State teams to play hard and Mann has been one of the catalysts during his time there.
Mann was the 100th ranked player in the 2015 recruiting class according to 247sports. He’s not a top recruit like many NBA players are but these lower ranked guys often work much harder than the top recruits do.
He is a guy who could possibly go undrafted in next years draft but Memphis could also take him with their second-round pick or acquire a second one if they had another guy they liked as well. According to NBADraft.net, he is slotted in as the 59th pick.
One thing he does need to work on is his three-point shot. He is shooting just under 30% from deep throughout his college career while taking less than one per game.
If you are a wing who can’t shoot three-pointers you won’t be able to have a consistent role unless you are elite in some other area.
Mann isn’t which is part of the reason he is slotted to go so late in the draft. He is shooting 66% from three-point range through five games so if he can even stay above 40% this season that would be huge for his draft stock.
Through Florida State’s first five games he is averaging 13.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. The most interesting stat might be that 3.6 of his rebounds have been on the offensive end of the floor which is something NBA teams will notice.
Mann is a very tough player and we know the Grizzlies love guys like that. Expect Memphis to keep tabs on him as the college season goes along.
