Conley And Gasol

Mike Conley and Marc Gasol both had their fair share of struggles but they have started to turn it on. They haven’t been perfect, but they have been playing at an all-star level.

Conley’s struggles were the one that was talked about more but Gasol was as well. He wasn’t playing aggressive every night but that is no longer an issue.

They both are playing at a high level which is why this team was on top of the western conference for a short time.

The bench was a big reason as well but this team is going to go as far as these two take them. That includes the possibility of a long losing streak, it’s up to their two stars to keep that from happening.

They’re playing inspired basketball as they are gonna try to do whatever it takes to get back into the playoffs.

Despite the early struggles, Conley is still averaging 20.2 points and 6.6 assists per game. His 42% from the field and 35% from three-point range are almost back to his career averages after they were horrendous early on.

Gasol has been more aggressive as of late and his numbers have gone way up because of it. He is averaging 18.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.

That would be a career-high in rebounds for Gasol which is just a part of his improved defense. He is playing like a Defensive Player of the year candidate.

He is averaging 1.3 blocks per game in addition to a career-high in steals at 1.6. There are so many good defenders in the game today so he likely won’t win it but he has a chance to make an All-Defensive team at the very least.

The offense will continue to run through these two at the end of games. If they continue to play well and play motivated, there’s no reason to expect this losing streak to continue for more than another game at the most.
