Home Court Advantage

A lot of teams are able to win games on their home floor. A handful of teams have just one or two home losses but then they only have a couple wins on the road.

If you want to make the playoffs you have to be able to win some tough games on the road. The Grizzlies have done that thus far with wins on the road in San Antonio and Milwaukee.

The western conference is going to be tight all the way down to the wire. The three through nine spots in the final standings last season was separated by just a couple of games.

A couple of home losses against bad teams could be the difference between making the playoffs or missing the playoffs.

This Memphis team can’t afford to be just on the outside looking in when the season is over. If their pick doesn’t fall into the top eight in next years draft they lose their pick to Boston.

Through the first nine home games this season the Grizzlies are 7-2. They lost a home game to the Utah Jazz and then they lost their most recent game against the New York Knicks.

You can’t complain too much after a start that they’ve had but those are two games they had no business losing.

They have won a couple that they had no business winning though. Their wins over Denver and Philadelphia were surprising and they didn’t play close to their best basketball in either.
