The Memphis Grizzlies don’t have a lot of young assets on their roster. They may be looking to change that as they reportedly have some interest in Frank Ntilikina.

Frank Ntilikina has struggled to start his career with the New York Knicks. They had high hopes after they selected him with the 8th overall pick in the 2017 draft.

His role has been inconsistent and his future with the team is in question. It has been reported that multiple teams have inquired about his availability, the Grizzlies included.

Who knows what kind of interest Memphis actually has. Shelvin Mack has been solid in the backup point guard role and the team still speaks highly about Jevon Carter.

Mike Conley is this teams franchise point guard but is he in his low 30’s so if they have the chance to acquire a young guard they should consider it.

Ntilikina is just 20 years old so it’s too early to give up on him. The Grizzlies don’t have a lot of trade assets so they likely will be outbid by other interested teams such as the Phoenix Suns.

Through his first 101 games of his career, he is averaging 5.9 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game. He started in 23 of those games.

His shooting percentages have been very bad. He is shooting 36% from the field and just 30% from three-point range.

This season it is just 33% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc. His field goal percentage is below Eric Gordon who is at 36% and is the lowest qualified player.

He obviously has a lot to work on but if the Knicks want to get rid of him maybe the Grizzlies could take a chance on him.

It is possible that he could spend some time in the G-League so maybe they would look to trade for him for that reason.

At the end of the day, it all depends on whether the Knicks want to move on. Memphis will have interest but it will all come down to whether or not they have the assets they’re willing to move to make a deal.
